Bannatyne Hotel: Jenn and Martyn's Family Orientated, Fairytale Wedding
Jenn and Martyn had always planned a church wedding with all of their family present.
Sadly, Jenn was going through a very difficult time, with her mum passing away a few months before the big day, however thanks to St. Anne's Church and Bannatyne’s empathetic and hardworking staff, the couple were able to honour Jenn’s mum and have a beautiful wedding day, photographed by Lee Ovendon.
The Venue:
After attending three wedding fairs at Bannatyne, Darlington, the couple had known that, that was where they wanted to bring their family together after the ceremony.
Following saying their “I do’s” at St. Anne’s Church in Catterick Village, the party had headed over to the grade II listed town house hotel for a laid-back party tailored to their specifications.
The Bride’s Dress:
“It was a lovely mother and daughter day out.” – Jenn
Jenn’s wedding dress shopping experience was a true testament to the saying ‘when you know, you know.’ After trying on around 60 dresses and being despaired at being unable to find the gown for her, the bride-to-be had walked out in an Anna Sorrano gown with lace detailing.
The reveal had brought her mum to tears and she knew that it was the dress she had to be married in.
Unfortunately, Jenn's mum passed away a few months before the wedding, so her wedding dress, and the day they spent together shopping for it took on a much more special meaning, as she walked down the aisle in the gown her mum had picked out for her.
Special Moments:
Apart from funny speeches and fulfilling their desire to have a wedding day surrounded by loved ones, later in the day guests released balloons in memory of Jenn’s mum.
