Annabel and Nathan shared a momentous wedding day with family and friends at Le Petit Chateau in Northumberland.
“We’ve been together since we were 15 and 16, having met through friends as teenagers. There was a huge group of us who used to meet up every weekend and camp out, have house parties, etc. Nathan had asked me out after we’d known each other for about eight months, and we’ve been together ever since.
We’ve literally grown up together and eventually moved to Dubai as a couple, where he proposed to me in the desert,” says Annabel.
“We wanted a traditional wedding service at St Robert’s Church (my parents were married there and I was christened there too), followed by a wedding reception with plenty of food and drink… The plan was for everyone to just have a great time and a laugh.”
The couple chose photographer Scott Spock to capture their fun day. “We wanted fabulous photographs that weren’t too ‘stiff’ and old-fashioned. We wanted relaxed, modern and fun – which is exactly why we chose Scott Spock Photography,” explains Annabel.
They were in little doubt when it came to choosing a fitting wedding venue;
it just had to be Le Petit Chateau. “We chose the venue as we had viewed nearly every wedding venue in the North East and we knew we wanted something different, modern… Something new. We had been to weddings at Newton Hall and when we heard that Le Petit Chateau was opening we just knew we would love it. We’d recommend this venue to anyone.”
A serious reception party ensued and one any fun-loving couple like this duo would be proud of: entertainers included Jason Issacs and his 10-piece band, a saxophonist and singing waiters. For those feeling the heat, cocktail ice lollies were provided by Real Nice Ice.
“The best advice I can offer to another bride is to try not to get stressed out in the build-up to the wedding, just ensure you have plenty of time to plan – make a tick list for everything and leave the last couple of weeks to just relax and enjoy time with your friends and family.”
