Le Petit Chateau: A Sleek Spring Wedding For Alexandrea And Alastair
Brides if you're searching for wedding inspiration, then you've come to the right place as this wedding is filled with plenty. Beyond beautiful, featuring natural green shades, Scottish motifs and a sprinkle of romance. Captured by Carn Patrick Photography against the unique backdrop of Le Petit Chateau, Alexandrea and Alastair held an unforgettable wedding, which we can’t seem to stop lusting over.
“The wedding was in spring, so I wanted simple white and green colour theme that I felt complimented the venue and gardens. The groom is Scottish, so we picked a green and white tartan with light green tweed jacket, the buttonholes also contained a white thistle and the bridesmaids were dressed in sage green. We wanted to ensure we entertained our Scottish guests so we picked a Ceilidh, which was great fun!”
“I knew I wanted to get married at the venue, but not in just a plain room and the Belle Epoque at Le Petit Chateau is beautiful. We looked around on its first open day and we were really taken with how unusual the venue is, then when we met Tim the master of ceremony snd he was so lovely and theatrical we were sold! We have a Westie called Alistair and he’s a big part of our life so it felt really wrong to leave him out, luckily the venue was dog-friendly so he could come!”
How did you choose your photographer?
“I really struggled to find a photographer, all I knew was I wanted them to be beautiful but not feel like I had spent all day getting my photo taken. I had seen a wedding Carn Patrick had photographed at Le Petit Chateau, which was beautiful. Then when I was choosing my wedding dress the woman from the shop also recommended him as she had booked him for her own wedding next year. I thought if somebody who works in the industry has booked this guy two years ahead of time he must be good. It was literally the best choice we made, he was so lovely and professional that one of my own guests has now booked him!”
Any funny stories from the wedding?
“When I heard the amazing voice of Faye Shearer start signing my walking down the aisle song I got really emotional and as Kitty had spent all morning doing my make up I was not prepared to ruin it. I quickly asked my bridesmaids to make me laugh, they began flossing literally outside the Belle Epoque door where all the guests were seated. I laughed so hard the tears were gone!”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Once I arrived at the venue I tried to get into the mentality nothing can be altered now so the day will be as it is. It just meant I wasn’t stressing over the little things and I could enjoy the day. Also, I tried to prioritize photos, video and rings as I figured the day after the wedding that’s what you get to keep!”
What was your highlight of the day?
“Mine was walking back down the aisle as man and wife realising after all the month of preparation you had managed to get married! Copious amounts of confetti also helped to make the moment extra special”
