Lumley Castle is no ordinary venue; it is the most spectacular, picturesque location for a dreamy fairytale wedding, as it provides the perfect backdrop for the most desirable wedding photos.

It is no surprise that Jessica and Gary chose this spectacular venue for their big day. They tied the knot on Saturday 30th December 2017. Jessica had always dreamt of a white wedding and to her delight she woke up to snow, this completely made her day and certainly added to the picturesque location.

Jessica and Gary first met when they were set up on a blind date in Belfast. This blind date had been set up by Gary’s cousin who Jessica was at the time living with. Jessica said, “It was the best first date ever! I was only due to stay in Belfast for three months and here I am, still in Belfast three years later.”

Their love story evolved and their wedding day was just wonderful and faultless, meaning the bride consequently couldn’t pick out a specific highlight as she said “I have tried to pick a favourite part if my day but I can’t. The whole day was magical and we both loved every second of it. From walking down the aisle to the last dance on the dance floor - we had SO MUCH FUN and we both had massive smiles on our faces all day!”

            

Jessica recalled a funny story from her wedding, this being at 9pm when they went outside to get their memorable photos in front of the spectacular castle on the grass so that the whole castle was lit up in the background. It was all fun and games until Gary had to lift Jessica up the grass bank and as he did he slipped and fell down the grass bank with Jessica in his arms. Meaning the suit was muddy but thankfully the white dress was still intact, this ultimately marking a funny and memorable moment for both the bride and groom.

How did you choose your venue?

“Lumley Castle is so elegant and beautiful, it was exactly what we were looking for and to get married in a castle really was a dream! As soon as I spoke to the wedding coordinators, I knew Lumley was the one! They were so helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our day perfect.

“The venue was just perfect and we enjoyed every minute of the day. We had so many great comments on the venue too - everyone loved it.”

Jessica echoed the best advice given by most brides and grooms-to-be...

“My advice would be to remember that it’s your day, no one else’s. So do what makes you happy! The day goes over so fast so take time to sit back and take it all in and remember to spend some time with each other too.”
