Newton Hall: Caroline And Lewis Had The Most Magical Day

DATE

Lewis and Caroline may not have experienced 'love at first sight' but, after a chance encounter following university, it was clear that the couple’s fate was written in the stars. Friends and family, and even four-legged friends, came to celebrate the couple's special day in the rustic surroundings provided by Newton Hall on the 14th July 2017.

“I just wanted Lewis and I, and our family and friends to have fun, nothing too uptight. We had some special family over from New Zealand and it was important to us both that our whole families be there (as well as our Cavapoo dog, Poppy!)”

Bright bouquets were softened by neutral palettes and natural greenery, which made for a modest yet timeless feel the couple had hoped for.

“As Lewis is part of a farming family, we both wanted somewhere rural, however, with the quirkiness of Newton Hall, it was a perfect match! From the day we went up to see it the lush green fields has us under their spell and it was booked within a day! On the day we managed to get married outside too, it was perfect.”

“I couldn't recommend the venue enough, from their attention to details to their great friendly staff, our day ran like clockwork without us having to worry about a thing!”

Well, all but one thing…

“We actually found out a week before the wedding that one of the best men had broken his leg in a rugby match. As you can imagine, I had all sorts going through my head, as I wasn't keen on the idea of having a casted leg on our wedding photos! In the end everyone just saw the funny side and poor Matthew (the best man) was the butt of jokes on the day - apart from during his speech when it was mostly Lewis and I!”

How did you choose your photographer?

"Sean Elliott was just the natural choice; he is amazing and captured our day perfectly. We didn't want anything too posed, and that’s exactly what we got. Lewis, who wasn't keen on some of the more posed photographs, ended up loving it and I put that all down to Sean! He is such a talented man."

What was your highlight of the day?

"Where can I start.... the whole day was just amazing. However there are some special moments never to be forgotten, like my mum helping me into my dress, seeing Lewis for the first time at the end of the aisle or having all of our most loved family and friends there to witness the day! It's too hard just to pick one!!

Advice for other brides and grooms?

"Don't sweat the small stuff! Sometimes we were both caught up in the finer details, but in the end, it’s your day and sometimes the small stuff gets overlooked. On the day, just relax and enjoy it... it’s the most magical day and if it was anything like ours it should go without a hitch… and hopefully not a best man with his leg in a cast!"
