REAL WEDDING

Canapés, outdoor dancing and all the romancing...

It all started at Loveshack nightclub in Durham. Liam in club tie and suit, Olivia in lifeguard fancy dress, the pair struck up quite the bond on a university sport social night out. Since then, Olivia and Liam’s relationship blossomed to slightly more glamorous settings when we asked her to marry him on the beach in San Fran. They spent the rest of the day celebrating on Pier 39 drinking champagne and eating the famous fish chowder.

Despite the complications that COVID presented, having to postpone their day twice, Olivia and Liam persevered and finally got the day of their dreams in July 2021.

Rose Gold Glow

The chosen venue? An easy decision for the duo – they had always wanted to wed in Northumberland and the two-night wedding experience at Ellingham was impossible to turn down.

WE INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH ELLINGHAM AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN. TRADITIONAL BUT MODERN, IT FELT PERFECT. WE ALL SPENT THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING TOGETHER IN THE HALL, WHICH WAS AMAZING.

Styling was simple – doing everything themselves other than the chair drapes. A family friend dressed the hall in pink and white florals, with flourishes of rose gold and sparkle adding a touch of luxe, while the groom’s sister was in charge of the gorgeous three-tiered cake. The tables, named after gin brands, were gorgeously dressed in blush pink with fairy lights and candles. A real humble family affair that didn’t compromise on beauty.

WE HAD THE MOST PERFECT, SPECIAL AND MAGICAL DAY. I THINK HAVING TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL YEAR MADE THE DAY EVEN MORE AMAZING. IT WAS SO FULL OF LOVE AND HAPPINESS AND ALL OF OUR LOVED ONES WERE JUST SO HAPPY TO SEE US FINALLY GETTING MARRIED.

 SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT

Capturing this magical day in full flow was Dan Clark Photography, a Northumberland-based snapper with a keen eye for Insta-ready settings. His images are always grid friendly, and sure to get those likes poppin'.

Get the Luxe

Olivia looked sensational in a Justin Alexander A-line showstopper – clean cut, thick, sumptuous fabric and a beautifully deft polka dot detailed neckline provided all the bridal beauty. A pearl adorned veil, subtle pale pink lip and an elegant scraped back up-do finished off her look.

Groom against the Grain: Not following the tradition of bystanding hubs-to-be, groom Liam was involved in the wedding plans from day dot - producing colour coded spreadsheets and offering organisation at every turn. Where did you find him Olivia?!

AS SOON AS I WALKED DOWN THE AISLE, I LOOKED AT LIAM AND JUST FELT AT EASE AND SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY AND LUCKY.

Open Air Affair

With the green foliage-hugged hall in the background, dusk brought this party to life and the good vibes were well and truly underway. Canapés, bench-top dancing around the fire pit, an outdoor first dance, live sax and a brilliant band, all the hugs and tears. One for the memory books.
