The Normans: Rachel and Andrew’s Whimsical Wedding Wonder
“We’re best friends and I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.”
After living their dreams and travelling California, Rachel and Andrew first met at a hostel, in San Francisco, where they became best friends. Their love soon blossomed and the rest was history!
Describing their day, as magic and full of love, Rachel and Andrew always dreamt of having a relaxed wedding, where their friends and family could have fun and let their hair down.
The Venue:
‘Yorkshire’s most unique country wedding venue’
This hidden gem, The Normans, set in rural North Yorkshire played home to the whimsical wedding of Rachel and Andrew.
Boasting character and elegance, this 18thcentury wedding venue brought the ‘country-cool’ atmosphere, which the couple fell in love with.
Rachel said: “I grew up in Harrogate and wanted to be able to get ready at home with my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. We stumbled across The Normans after a lot of searching and loved how beautiful it was whilst also having that laid back feel.”
The room was decorated with magical fairy lights and candles, adding a dreamy and rustic feel, while the rich wooden features helped complement the bursts of autumnal colours.
The Dress:
“Originally, I wanted something simple, but as soon as I tried my dress on (along with the veil) I knew I wanted something more dramatic - I tried on more dresses but kept coming back to this one,” Rachel reflected.
Dramatic and bold – Rachel wore a beautiful Watters Wtoo gown, scattered in a delicate lace. The long sleeves, cut out back and fitted style oozed glamour and beauty.
The Bride’s Advice:
“Enjoy it! The day goes by so quickly, so remember to take in all the moments you can and soak it all up.”
