Headlam Hall: Rachel and Matthew’s Intimate Happily Ever After
“Seeing our friends and family happy, meant the world to us."
After meeting on a night out with friends, the couple’s relationship took to the next level when Matthew proposed at the beach on holiday - their friends captured the beautiful moment on camera and as the saying goes, the rest was history!
The Venue:
Set in the picturesque Durham dales, this 17th century country house retreat, Headlam Hall, stood proud within its very own secluded gardens and farmland.
This idyllic venue offered the couple picture perfect views, exquisite surroundings and a stunning scenic backdrop, boasting history and character.
Statement chandeliers hung from the ceiling, while sheer blue tiebacks graced the chairs, adding elegance and charm to Rachel and Matthew’s wedding day.
Looking back, Rachel said: “We fell in love straight away with Headlam Hall, the staff, the grounds and the venue itself were just amazing. We visited other venues but nothing came close for us.”
The Dress:
“I went dress shopping with my mum. I knew straight away that the third dress I tried on was my perfect dress,” Rachel said.
The bride dressed with understated elegance, wearing a gorgeous a-line gown, with sweetheart neckline and embellished waistband. Rachel’s dress was complemented perfectly by the subtle pastel blue shades of her bridesmaids.
The Bride’s Advice:
“For us, having friends and family there was so important, we wanted everyone there who we love and care about.
Make sure to enjoy every single second, as it goes so fast.”
