Set amidst 300 acres of rolling parkland, this spectacular country house, Matfen Hall, played host to the subtle and elegant wedding of Rebecca and Simon, where all their wedding dreams and expectations were fulfilled.
From the Beginning…
When Rebecca spent an afternoon at her local bar with friends, she never expected to meet the man she was going to marry, and after their relationship quickly blossomed, Simon’s magical proposal took place at their baby’s gender reveal party.
Majestic Matfen Hall:
A hidden gem, nestled in the Northumbrian countryside, the beauty of Matfen Hall truly spoke for itself, providing the most enchanting backdrop for Rebecca and Simon’s special day.
After becoming first time parents, the couple’s priorities changed as they realised that their vision of the ‘perfect wedding’ had changed from an abroad destination to an intimate affair in the UK – with their nearest and dearest all in one place.
Boasting an incomparable setting, the romantic atmosphere that encompassed this bold and beautiful venue, made way for their celebrations, as they spent their whimsical wedding with just 40 of their closest loved ones.
“We absolutely loved Matfen Hall – the drive leading up to the venue with its extensive grounds was truly like no other – traditional and completely breath-taking. Thanks to the great team behind this venue, everything went perfectly on the day.” – Rebecca
Stepping into The Great Hall, the couple were greeted by antique mirrors which adorned the grand arches and natural light that flooded in from the centuries-old rose window – the perfect setting for their first steps into married life.
Say Yes to the Dress:
While guests enjoyed al fresco celebrations after the ceremony, Rebecca and Simon took to the stunning surroundings of The Dutch Gardens where the bride showed of her exquisite, lace, fit-and-flare gown from Most Desirable.
“I went for something classy and elegant” – The impeccable detailing carried on throughout, as Rebecca’s bridal look was graduated with a sweetheart neckline, pearl headband and her bridesmaids dressed in rose gold sequinned dresses, matching her chosen colour palette perfectly.
Advice from the Bride:
“Plan the wedding you and your partner want; not what others expect and make sure to shop around for the best deal. We booked our venue with only five months till the big day so getting the dress, photographer and other things arranged in time is definitely possible!
It was so special spending our day with those that we loved.”Real Weddings section or browse the pages of our glossy magazine – available to buy or download now.
