Rudding Park: Hannah and Dan's traditional wedding celebration

DATE

Hannah and Dan first met on a night out, with friends, in Leeds. Shortly after, their relationship blossomed and in April last year, the couple said their vows surrounded by family and friends.

Rudding Park Real Wedding Hannah and Dan

Both Hannah and Dan had always dreamt of having a traditional wedding with a modern twist and their local parish church, St Edwards King and Confessor Catholic Church, turned all of their dreams into a reality.

Hannah said: “I wanted a luxurious day that oozed elegance and tradition. We also wanted the fun factor, therefore it was important we had a good evening band, that suited both of our music styles.”

Of course, the couple wanted their day to be perfect and as Hannah is very organised, the wedding planning came natural to her.

She said: “The guest list was probably the most stressful part, trying to please everyone and considering family affairs and opinions can make it difficult. Overall, good suppliers really do help and give you peace of mind. I was heavily involved with my stylist Hana – poor girl must of received, at least, weekly messages in the run up."

THE VENUE:

Hannah and Dan attended many wedding fair's, local to Harrogate and York, however the stunning grounds of Rudding Park was the venue that stole their hearts.

Hannah said: “I wanted somewhere local, a hotel that reflected Yorkshire and a place where guests could stay. We loved the regency look of Rudding Park and the fact we can go back to stay for anniversaries.”

THE OUTFITS:

Hannah’s gown reflected her usual style. She is a lover of minimalism with stylish cuts – the kind Whistles sell.

She really wanted a British designer and thought her Castigliano dress was perfect for her.

She said: “I tried a few other designers and found the whole shopping process so special. We had a bottle of fizz and macaroons! I also attended an accessory evening to get my hair comb and veil.

As soon as I put 'the one’ on, I knew it was perfect for me. It was plain with pockets, high at the front, low at the back and I felt a million dollars. I felt I was channeling the modern day Audrey Hepburn with an added princess feel.”

Hannah knew her wedding dress was a big part of deciding the overall plan for the style of wedding and both the venue and her dream dress worked hand-in-hand, showcasing their perfect, classic day.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

The photographer was the first supplier the couple booked for the wedding. Hanna and Dan wanted a fine art look and Helen Russell’s photography was just the right style.

Hannah said: “Helen was amazing. She clearly understands the process of a wedding and photographs the elements you spent months and months choosing. She is so natural with her photos and professional, yet fun! Honestly I could not recommend Helen enough. She really captured the love and laughter of our wedding day.”

THE EXTRAS:

Overall, the day was filled with fun, laughter, singing and dancing.

Hannah said: “Me and my bridesmaids were dancing, with hand dyed blush pink ribbon in the entrance hallway, to our violinist playing Calvin Harris/Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love.’ This was a real fun moment between my best friends and sister-in-law."

Hannah reflected: “Keep remembering what really matters during the process, even when things become stressful and the budget creeps up!

Remember you’re marrying the one you love regardless and it’s as easy as that.”
