An engagement shoot is the perfect way to start your wedding journey. This intimate shoot with your partner (and your photographer) not only prepares you for your wedding photographs, but also captures an important moment in your lives.
Today we’re sharing with you the engagement shoot of Kirsty and James, captured by award-winning wedding photographer, Sawyer and Sawyer.
It was love at first sight when Kirsty and James met at York Races back in July 2013. Fast-forward four years and James popped the question while the couple were away in Scarborough for the weekend. “James proposed during a weekend away in Scarborough for our fourth anniversary. It rained all weekend and the hotel we stayed in was certainly interesting, but James’s proposal made it all worth it!”
The couple who have recently tied the knot in the beautiful setting of Ullswater, in the Lake District, knew they wanted a engagement shoot. “We found Ray (of Sawyer & Sawyer) through an advertisement on Facebook and we were blown away by his work.
“His creative style speaks for itself and easy nature made us feel extremely relaxed, which is something rare in two people that are shy around the camera.”
The engagement shoot took place at Aira Force, which was just a couple of miles away from Kirsty and James’s wedding venue. “The location itself was selected by Ray and my husband themselves after numerous visits to various places – the beauty of the place speaks for itself.
“We would definitely recommend Ray to all future brides and wish him the best of luck!”
About Sawyer and Sawyer
Capturing consistently beautiful images is the mission that Sawyer & Sawyer was founded on, and since launching this is something that owner, Ray, continuously delivers. “I understand how important it is to use a wedding photographer who is happy to take the time to get to know both of you. Someone who is then able to use that knowledge to capture those special moments others might miss. When it’s time to choose a wedding photographer, the best choice will be someone who you trust and makes you feel relaxed – a photographer you ‘click’ with.”
My relaxed style of wedding photography combined with a true passion for your day helps me capture not only those special moments, but those precious and spontaneous ones, too – those moments of true emotion and those fleeting moments that will bring back happy memories for years to come.”
Fun Fact – The name Sawyer and Sawyer was born at the same time as Ray’s son, Tobias. “I named the business in the hopes that one day in the future my son and I could work together. I now have a beautiful daughter too, which hopefully means there will be three Sawyers.”
