After spending many date nights at the South Causey Inn, this venue became a firm favourite with Jaclyn and Dale. So, when Dale popped the question they both knew that the South Causey Inn was the perfect setting to tie the knot.
“We wanted a really laid back, relaxed wedding just surrounded by our closest family and friends. We feel the most comfortable and relaxed when we are in the countryside and the South Causey has always been a favourite of ours when we go on date nights, so it was the one and only venue which we ever considered. We also knew it would fit in with the relaxed, rustic theme, which we were aiming for. We didn’t want anything too sparkly or over the top so used a lot of wood, natural-looking flower arrangements and lace.”
“At the South Causey Inn the staff have always been brilliant on all of our visits up there and they surpassed our expectations on the day, nothing was too much to ask of them and they did an absolutely fantastic job especially with the room dressing. It was stunning.”
“We wanted photographs that were relaxed, not too staged and captured us as we are everyday not just a couple with a staged smile on their faces. Ross from RGMPhoto was the only photographer we spoke to who made us feel comfortable and at ease. He took time to answer all our initial questions and spoke to Dale just as much as me, this was extremely important to Dale as he felt that most suppliers at wedding fayres seemed to concentrate on me as the bride and not really acknowledge him as the groom. Ross definitely didn’t do this. On our first venue consultation with him he showed us some albums of weddings he had previously shot at the South Causey and they just blew us away. We couldn’t have asked for more from Ross, all our guests commented on how amazing he was and how he managed to just blend in with them; making sure to get all the relaxed and natural snaps of us all that we wanted.”
The bride wore a gorgeous Mori Lee gown from YAP. “I would definitely recommend that brides go dress shopping with an idea of the details they want but also with an open mind and a willingness to listen to the boutique staff as they honestly do know exactly what they are talking about! The girls in Y.A.P were amazing, Heather listened to all of the details which I wanted; and then let me pick a few dresses of my choice to try on and also selected a couple which she advised I try. I had picked all fitted gowns and Heather picked out a ballgown for me to try. I’m so glad I followed her advice and tried the ball gown as the fitted styles did nothing for me, but the ball gown gave me the full on Princess Moment! It was the first dress I tried and after that just nothing came close.”
Advice for other brides and grooms when it comes to wedding planning?
“Make sure you plan it remembering that it is YOUR day, make decisions based on your own preferences as a couple and not trying to please other people.”
What was your highlight of the day?
“As we only gave ourselves 12 month to plan and pay for the wedding, a honeymoon was never really discussed and we agreed that we would maybe book something after the wedding. Which is why I was caught totally by surprise during the groom’s speech when after he had done the usual thank you’s he handed me a microphone and an envelope to open and read… while I was busy opening the envelope he had pulled a pair of sombreros from underneath the table! Once I’d opened the envelope I was gobsmacked to see the words on the front of a gorgeous card “Our first adventure as Man & Wife… We leave on our honeymoon to Mexico in 19 days!” It turns out that most of our families and guests knew about this and I was the only one not to! Our photographer Ross managed to capture some amazing photos of all the reactions, especially mine!”
