The Baltic: Caroline and David’s stylish and contemporary wedding celebration

DATE

A building for contemporary art with minimalist interiors, the Baltic was perfect for Caroline and David’s contemporary and fashionably elegant and sophisticated vision of their wedding day.

After meeting on a night out through mutual friends, Caroline and David always envisioned a day filled with fun and laughter, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

THE VENUE:

Based on the banks of the River Tyne in Gateshead, this former flour mill, above all, showed the couple a contemporary style like no other.

The Baltic promised Caroline and David a stylish wedding day and with panoramic views of the quayside, they did not disappoint.

With dramatic spaces, urban style backdrop and exclusive terrace, the Baltic was everything that the couple had ever dreamt of.

Caroline said: “I wanted to get married back home, in Newcastle, so that my grandma and grandad could attend. When we visited the Baltic, the views were breathtaking - they stole it for us.

The rooms were modern and chic which meant that minimal decorating was required,” and as Caroline and David live in Leeds, this was a big plus.

“We would absolutely recommend the venue to future brides,” Caroline reflected.

The room was decorated with large plants, rattan chairs and pine wood floors giving the room a classic style.

Natural light shone through the statement glass windows, while subtle hints of blue and orange in the flowers and bridesmaid dress added a pop of colour to the wedding reception.

THE DRESS:

“Abigail’s Bridal Boutique were amazing, the service was fantastic. Before the dress arrived back I had lost weight therefore I was re-measured to ensure it fit perfectly,” Caroline said.

The bride stood in a Stella York bridal dress, with delicate lace detailing and long flowing train. The sleeveless design and illusion of the V-neck created a look of elegance, class and beauty.

THE BRIDE’S ADVICE:

“Remember to grab some time together, once you’re married, so you can soak it all in. To the brides - when you make your entrance be prepared that the whole room will be looking at you.

Try not to be nervous, everyone is there because they love you and want to be apart of your day.”

Our highlight had to be having all of our family and friends in one place, enjoying our special day.

However, the most talked about point by our guests was the food, it was outstanding!”
