REAL WEDDINGS

The Inn at Whitewell | Simon and Olivia's Wedding in Wellies

DATE

When they met at a New Year’s Eve party, Simon and Olivia fell in love after first being friends. When they had only been together for a few months, Olivia was due to move to India – what could have been the end of their relationship, actually turned into the start of a beautiful love story. From the moment she stepped on the plane to Mumbai, Olivia knew that Simon was the love of her life. The feeling was mutual, and within the next few days Simon had quit his own job and was heading to join her to start their life together.

After a proposal at sunset at Cabo de São Vicente in Portugal, The Inn at Whitewell became a dream venue for these friends turned lovers.

The Dress

“Added bonus – it had pockets!” - Olivia

Originally married to the idea of a lacy, figure hugging dress, after her mam organised a last minute appointment at Emma Hartley Bridalwear, Olivia’s dress plans changed dramatically. Figure hugging and lacy became this classic gown (with pockets)! Which were later paired with Hunter Wellingtons for a unique and whimsical photo opportunity on the stepping stones on The Whitewell’s river.

The Venue

From a small manor house in the 1300’s, lived in by the keepers of the Royal Forest, in the 1700’s The Whitewell was transformed into the proud inn which overlooks the River Hodder. Fast-forward another 300 years and the landmark venue, and wedding planners committed to weddings big and small, became the place Olivia and Simon knew they wanted to take their first steps as a married couple.

On the morning of their wedding day, Olivia and Simon’s home was broken into, but thanks to the couple’s caring friends and family coming together, and the best man making sure everything ran smoothly, the whole party were able to celebrate, while the pair spent the rest of the day on cloud nine.
