The Vermont Hotel: Adam And Laura's Romantic Winter Wedding
When Adam and Laura first met at University the sparks between them were, but a fizzle. Fast-forward a few years and a couple of nights out later and the magic between them sparkled! Adam and Laura’s romantic winter wedding was held at the captivating Vermont Hotel in Newcastle on the 16th December 2017. Friends and family all gathered to watch the magical day unfold. Well, all but one…

“Well it’s funny now but Adam’s mum ended up in hospital on the wedding night. We didn’t tell Adam on the night; one because he would have been zero use in a crisis and second because she didn’t want a fuss - she tells us it was nothing to do with the Strictly Come Dancing Final being held on the same night that she wanted to see...”

Although the essence of this stunning venue speaks for itself, the delicate fairy lights and luminous candles created the perfect finishing touch to Adam and Laura’s modest but elegant day.
“We wanted quite a simple, yet classy look to the wedding. Everything was contained at a single venue, easy for people to get to and plenty to do throughout the day. The Vermont Hotel is a perfect venue for that. With it being a winter wedding I wanted the cosy feel to the day.”

“Once we had decided we wanted a city venue, we viewed a couple of hotels in Newcastle but The Vermont Hotel had the edge over the others. Its location is perfect, the views from top in the Sky Lounge were brilliant and we loved the whole vibe the hotel has. Tanya Hedley our coordinator was amazing, she’s so professional and gives you constant reassurance that everything is under control and ticking along smoothly. We’d definitely recommend The Vermont Hotel to other couples.”

How did you choose your photographer?
“He was recommended to Adam through a friend at work who had been to a wedding where Jamie had been and they were full of praise for him. We did our homework/stalking beforehand, looking at his previous wedding shoots and liked his work. After meeting up with him for a drink, we got on really well and booked him there and then!”

Advice for other brides and grooms?
"Try and enjoy every second as the day really does fly by. A shot of cafè patron before the ceremony helps with nerves. Get someone to film the speeches so you can watch them back afterwards."
What was your highlight of the day?
"My personal highlight was the Best Man’s speech, which was very funny and had the whole room laughing at the expense of my husband."
