We love fairytale romances and happy endings for our amazing couples and today’s real wedding features just that, as Scott and Anita celebrated a picture-perfect wedding at Webster’s Ropery.
“I met Scott when he was doing some work for my parents and he knew my brother. I had just bought a house and my plumber had dropped me in so I asked Scott to do the work for me. At that time it was purely a work relationship and it wasn’t until months later Scott asked me on a date. He would then turn up to the house in his work van I would make him park it streets away so my big brother wouldn’t see! We were only together a few months when we found out I was pregnant with our little boy Theo.”
“The day we viewed the venue, my mam told me that my aunt, who is no longer with us, used to work there when it a just a pub. The same day I bumped into my cousin and it was like a sign she was giving me. This venue is simply stunning and on the day Sean and his team went above and beyond for us. I could not praise him enough from the food to the setup, the organization it was better than some larger wedding venues that I have worked in and viewed during the planning.”
“I wanted a rustic style wedding with history and after viewing loads of venues and nearly booking somewhere else, I came across the Ropery. I wanted a day with loads of surprises, hence the magician, photo booth and ice cream van. I thought the evening guests at most weddings don’t really get given a thought and I wanted them to feel just as special as the daytime guests, so we also had a second drinks reception for them. I wanted all of the guests to leave saying they enjoyed their day.”
How did you choose your photographer?
“I came across an advert while on Facebook and messaged Ray Sawyer… It was the best decision we ever made.”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Brides, let your groom plan some things. Scott organized the flowers and even the wedding date (which changed twice!) He sorted the church and dealt with the priest.”
“Also enjoy every moment of it, it’s true what everyone says it goes over so quick. There will be parts of the day that will be a blur, emotions will be high and I spent most of the morning crying. We also learnt that the people who arrived on the day are the ones that matter. There will be things that don’t go to plan on the morning or during the day but don’t panic as it will still be perfect.”
What was your highlight of the day?
“It’s hard to pick out one… Seeing each other at the top of the altar and looking and seeing all of our guest watching us getting married. For a bride lucky enough to have her dad there, it’s a magical moment when he sees you for the first time in your dress and tells you, you look beautiful- a memory that will stay with me forever. My brother, who wasn’t going to be at the wedding, turned up as I was about to go into the church. I was just about to get out of the car and I saw him. Ray got a picture of this.”
