Family, friends and fun was the theme for Nadia and Andrew’s wedding at Woodhill Hall wedding venue. Captured by Eye Of The Tyne Photography, it’s clear that this couple created the grand celebration of their dreams.
“We have such an amazing family network we wanted them to be a big part of the day. We had our nieces as Nadia’s bridesmaids alongside a plethora of her friends to share the wedding morning fun with her. Andrew’s brothers and dad were the super hero grooms men, with a lifelong friend as his best man. All backed up by Andrew’s mum, who seemed to have a never ending list of jobs, yet still managed to be Queen of the Gin and cakes.”
“As Nadia seems to know someone everywhere she goes, a guest list was hard to narrow down but we like to think that every one of our friends shared some part in our special day, even if they were unable to be there.”
“We knew we’d have fun but we made sure our whole build up was centered on how we would make sure everyone had just that. We managed to get our personalities to shine through on the day. Having two children (three if you include the groom) we wanted to incorporate all of our likes/interests into our wedding day. Both Andrew and Darcey are massive Disney and superhero fans so this played a big part. Somehow The Incredibles even played a part on our cheesecake, each character representing a family member.”
For this couple no other venue came close to Woodhill Hall. Informal, quirky and fun is exactly what this setting is all about. “Nadia went to Woodhill Hall five years ago for a friend’s wedding and felt it was a phenomenal venue then. After Andrew proposed we decided we wanted a wedding venue that would cater for a weekend event. On a cold but crisp Sunday in November 2015, we visited Woodhill Hall. We both walked around not saying a word, and looked at each other at the end of the tour to both in bridal terms simply utter the word ‘Yes’. We booked it there and then for our winter wedding in 2017. The view from the orangery overlooking Otterburn is simply incredible and one of the deciding factors in our decision. Since Nadia first went, everyone at Woodhill Hall have developed and enhanced it to make it a truly magical venue. We could think of nowhere we would rather have got married and to continue our adventure.”
During the day Nadia wore a gorgeous Pronovias gown followed by a Maggie Sottero on the evening. “One month after booking our wedding Nadia found out she was pregnant. Wedding dress shopping was therefore a bit more challenging than expected. A month before the wedding Nadia had two dresses and a fabulous seamstress. It was a bit touch and go for a few days but all worked out on the day.”
Advice for other brides and grooms when it comes to wedding planning?
“Remember it’s your day and ensure you do everything without regrets. If you do get pregnant whilst planning a wedding try and do everything before the baby is born. A new baby and a wedding to plan was a little stressful a times. Luckily we had fantastic friends and family to help.”
What was your highlight of the day?
“There were too many to mention and it’s only looking back through the photographs and hearing stories that we can put together all the amazing things that were happening.”
