After allegedly being “too cool to speak to him!”, Jennifer finally let down her guard with longterm acquaintance Martin after six years of job changes, university, house moves and different relationships. They bumped into one another at a restaurant, added each other on Instagram, and as they say, the rest is history. 

Martin proposed during lockdown, whilst wearing PJs in their kitchen. Personal, low key, and “totally them” according to blushing bride Jennifer. 

But when it came to their wedding – as lovely as their kitchen must be, the couple took things up a notch, or ten. Having always adored Wynyard Hall since being a little girl, the venue choice was a no brainer for Jennifer, and luckily her hubby shared her enthusiasm for the place.

Wonderful Wynyard

Resplendent in the June sunshine, Jennifer and Martin’s setting was like something from a film. Elegance and glamour intertwined at this iconic Hall to create an incredible atmosphere for their big day, opting for a subtle ivory and blush colour scheme to really compliment the grandeur of the venue. The exclusive use of the venue enabled Jennifer and Martin to have full access of the hall, utilising the beauty of each individual room to create a fluid and stylish celebration.

After a remarkable ceremony in the splendour of Wynyard’s Kings Room, the couple and their guests journeyed into the newly-renovated conservatory for a reception to remember. Late night dancing and a marriage menu of epic proportions ensued – think warm focaccia, roasted salt-aged sirloin and Sicilian lemon tart – while the stunning setting of Wynyard Estate allowed for quite spectacular images.

Jennifer opted for Alice Elizabeth Bridal in Coxhoe when it came to finding her dream dress. From the moment she entered, she said she felt part of the family – an ethos that owner Heather has harnessed over years of matching brides with their dream dress. 

For Jennifer, it was Penny by Enzoani, falling in love with the intricate lace, subtle beading and the dramatic double train. It flowed down the aisle at Wynyard Hall and was the show-stopping moment she had always dreamt of. 

Q&A

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle? 

As soon as I saw Martin all of my nerves melted away. I felt the calmed and happiest I have ever felt in my life. 

Funniest memory of the day? 

The best man’s girlfriend catching the bouquet, she had told me she was going to catch it and she definitely made sure she did! Shoes off, bag down and leaping around the lawn. 

Most cherished moment? 

Walking into our wedding reception announced for the first time as Mr and Mrs Fowler, as Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder played.
