We’re firm believers that everything happens for a reason, and for Stephanie and Adam it was clear from the start that they were meant to be together. “We originally met briefly in 2008 at a friend’s party, as Adam was friends with a friend of mine. Several months later we ended up at the same university, coincidentally been placed in the same flat! We were close friends for that time, lost touch and then fast-forward four years later and had we planned to meet up again as friends, however, we both knew it was more than that, and the rest is history!”

On Saturday 19th August 2017 Stephanie and Adam gathered with their friends and family to celebrate in the gorgeous setting of the Yorkshire Wedding Barn. “Our overall plan was for it to be a fun, relaxed day, with everyone we love having a good time! A casual theme, with beautiful greenery, eucalyptus, pale pink flowers decorated the venue and the church. Having a singer was fantastic and the sax. And bongo duo went down a storm on the evening with everyone up dancing. Our ultimate aim was to look around the room and think everyone we love is in one place! We literally never stopped smiling and laughing the whole time!”

“We had been to several weddings as a couple and did not want a traditional hotel based wedding. We heard about Yorkshire Wedding Barn from a family friend who had been there before and as soon as we drove up we knew it was for us! The fact it is so beautiful, has exclusive use and we had it for the whole weekend, meaning we were able to invite guests the day after for fish and chips was fab! The only thing is you have to provide everything yourself such as caterers, decoration etc.”

“We really wanted a relaxed photographer with not too many posed photos, as we love natural ones of people laughing. I searched the internet and came across Sarah-Jane and Simon and looked through their portfolio, which was beautiful so immediately knew we wanted them! Having a pre-wedding shoot was helpful too, so we could feel relaxed on the day.”

Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Try and relax and enjoy the day! You will realise the little details you might have thought were important – nothing matters on the day, as long as you end up been married surrounded by everyone you love it has went perfectly! Most importantly have fun, laugh and dance!”

What was your highlight of the day?
“Seeing Adam’s face as I walked down the aisle as he was crying! Also our first dance – I had choreographed a routine for us, which was simple but lovely and everyone seemed to love it!”
