12 Days of Christmas Day FOUR: The Wedding Wardrobe

Based in Chester-le-street in County Durham, brides travel from all over the North East for The Wedding Wardrobe’s friendly and relaxed atmosphere, beautiful wedding dresses and service.

Adopting an honest, ‘client-first’ approach, owner Tracey prides herself on offering brides an all-encompassing service that stretches far beyond just finding your dream dress.

They’ll be there for you right from your appointment up to the day of your marriage, covering everything from gown storage to dry cleaning after the big day.

Here’s 12 reasons we love the Wedding Wardrobe…

1. HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

After giving up a career in finance in London five years ago, boutique owner Tracey stumbled across a shop in Chester-le-Street which she saw a tonne of potential in.

Wanting to put her own stamp on things and project her personality, she got to work and built a beautiful bridal boutique from the ground up.

Tracey has now been at the helm of The Wedding Wardrobe for 4.5 years (although, as she admits, “it feels more like 20!”).

“It’s the best thing I ever did!”

2. TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

The shop has gone from strength to strength and they have developed a strong team of wedding wonder-workers who leave no stone unturned in the hunt for your dream dress.

Be it a pin in at the waist or giving you some valuable advice on designers, the Wedding Wardrobe girls are wholly committed to their craft, and work tirelessly to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

3. EXCLUSIVELY YOURS

At the core of this is their exclusive appointment policy.

When you book a fitting at The Wedding Wardrobe you will be the only bride in the boutique, giving you full rein to try on as many gowns as you like in a comfortable setting.

“This means we can really focus on the bride and find her the dress that suits her perfectly.”

4. LUXE LABELS

Gorgeous designer dresses from some of the hottest labels in the industry make this place tick. (Maggie Sottero, Morilee, House of Nicholas, Romantica Pure, Lilly)

5. AN INIMITABLE EXPERIENCE

Venture into this beautiful boutique and be swept off your feet into a world of wedding wonder.

Spread over two floors, The Wedding Wardrobe boast an expansive private dressing room and a red carpet-worthy catwalk where they can show off their styles in-front of up to three of their guests.

6. QUALITY CONSULTATIONS

Offering each bride a 90 minute consultation, they can get to know you and your style, having the ability to style you top to toe in-keeping with you and your personality.

7. SAFE AND SOUND

The team have taken all necessary precautions to make their boutique as safe as possible.

From hand sanitiser stations and full cleaning of the gowns after each fitting, they have endeavoured to offer a safe service without compromising on quality, ensuring your experience isn’t hampered by Covid-19.

8. MAGICAL MAIDS

Although she’s the most important, it’s not all about the bride.

The Wedding Wardrobe boast a separate bridesmaids room with a collection of styles, so your girl gang can feel as special as you in the kitting-out process!

9. FLOWER POWER

And the little ones don’t get left behind here.

Tracey and her team have designed their own collection of flower girl dresses complete with delicate details and beautiful styles to light up their faces.

10. THE FULL WORKS

Your experience doesn’t end after you say yes to your dress.

The team offer an end to end service, including gown storage, in-house alterations, wedding day dressing and an after wedding repair, dry cleaning and re-boxing service.

They have their own specialist bridal alterations studio where a talented team of seamstresses can make bespoke changes to yours, or your bridesmaids or mothers gowns.

11. BESPOKE AND BEAUTIFUL

From this little hub of creativity the Wedding Wardrobe now have the ability to design and make totally bespoke creations for bridal, prom and mother of the bride

“We just took our first commissions this autumn so very excited for those.” – Tracey

12: EDITOR LOVES

“The fact they have their own runway in the boutique. Brides can try their dress on and feel like a queen as they strut the catwalk, giving a little peek at their aisle style. It’s a real classy touch.”
