Dalton Old Pump House

INTRODUCTION

Rescued from the ravages of time, Dalton Old Pump House will soon be the newest wedding and events venue in County Durham.  Set to open in summer 2021, this imposing grade II listed building designed by the renowned engineer Thomas Hawksley between 1873-1879 and left virtually empty since World War II has been given a lick of love and restored to its natural state of beauty, providing the perfect stage for a wedding with an alternative edge.

Enchanting, ethereal and extremely exciting, you’ll be met by majestic steps on your approach, leading up to the elegant Victorian façade that is merely a prerequisite to what lies within.  Combining industrial features with ultra-glam modern styling, the interiors of the Pump House simply ooze character and class, making for the ultimate elegant backdrop for your wedding day.

Host your ceremony in the old engine room, where imposing industrial features and atmospheric lighting make for a breath-taking backdrop, before gathering your guests in the boiler house for a ravishing reception with drapes, flowers, candles and flexible fixtures allowing you to personalise the space to suit.

There are a whole host of wedding packages on offer, all of which come with a dedicated personal co-ordinator and an in-house celebrant, providing everything you’d need for a seamless celebration – whether that’s rustic and simple, or grand and glam.

SPACE TO STUN Wedding plans in tatters? No need to bubble – or is there…

Located in the heart of the building is the old boiler room – a 4,000sq feet space adorned with elegant chandeliers, vintage mirrors and opulent table decor to contrast the Victorian industrial features of the building.

The sheer size of this stunning space means you can create family ‘bubbles’ within the room and have a covid-safe soirée – with that all-important added glamour.

Picture this: Gathering your nearest and dearest in the fading light at a countryside bolthole filled with romantic luxe touches.

You have exclusive use of the venue and its luxurious on-site bridal suite, custom cocktails on arrival, an evening grazing buffet, and a personal wedding co-ordinator to take care of all the little details.

You walk down a lavish isle lined with crisp white carpet in front of all your loved ones, tie the knot with that special someone before dancing the night away to your very own resident DJ in industrial luxe surroundings.

What’s more, you’ve saved £1,000 on your stunning House of Mooshki or Grace Phillips dress, £250 on the groom’s Master Debonair outfit, your hair and makeup was done by a world-renowned catwalk MUA and you’re clutching a gorgeous bridal bouquet delicately crafted by blooming masterminds Wild & Wonderful.
