Horton Grange

INTRODUCTION

The Grade II-listed country manor hotel offers wedding parties complete privacy of the house and its gardens for the duration of the day’s celebrations, ensuring that festivities can be tailored to suit your exact requirements. With an experienced and dedicated wedding team on hand to guide you through the planning process, you can be assured that your every desire for the special day will be met, from floristry arrangements to reception entertainment.

What’s more, all nine of Horton Grange’s sophisticated bedrooms will be available for you and your chosen few to unwind before and after the day’s revelry. With luxury touches and plush beds, all that’s left for you to do is select your sleepover guests… There's three ceremony areas at your disposal too, including a fully licensed garden gazebo located in their perfectly manicured gardens – could there be a more idyllic summer soirée spot?

ELEGANT EXCLUSIVITY

For those yearning for a venue that offers countryside serenity with contemporary class, there’s simply no matching Horton Grange. Nestled in the Northumberland countryside in four acres of private grounds, just 30 minutes from Newcastle city centre, couples get it all; quaint countryside settings, incredible food and drink, impeccably cool interiors and a proper party atmosphere.

Inside is a distinctive mix of contemporary and traditional décor, matching the grandeur of its fascinating façade while providing nods to trends and tastes of tomorrow. Dark navies and greens, plush velvet sofas, filament light bulbs and William Morris wallpaper provide after dark drama while a gorgeously naturally-lit ceremony space with huge floor- to-ceiling apex windows provides the ultimate modern marriage moment.

And, whether it’s a big, sensational celebration or a wholly intimate affair, couples won’t be restricted on which spaces they can use. Horton Grange is exclusive use for the day, and a flexible, customer-comes-first approach gives full control over the all-important details – couples can choose their own menus, hire their own suppliers – it’s time to throw away the rule book (or should we say those pre- determined package brochures).

I DO DELIGHTS

Clients are spoilt for ceremony choice here, with the intimate-luxe of the lounge being ideal for smaller gatherings, while the ultra-modern conservatory-style wedding room offers heaps of natural light – as well as more seating. However, if it’s alfresco ‘I do’s that are the preference, summertime nuptials in the gorgeous gardens are also an option.

BELLE'S TOP TIP:

We recommend that you fill your wedding album with beautiful snaps taken all over this beautiful manor house’s grounds. From the door-step confetti dash and stolen kisses under the gazebo to tree-lined posed portraits and champagne toasts on the lawn, there are so many charming moments to capture.

LET’S DANCE

In terms of reception numbers, Horton Grange can host up to 150 guests, bhowever if the guest list runs a little longer than this, a marquee for up to 250 can be set up in the gardens for summertime sipping and a night of serious partying.

And, after the frivolities have worked up an appetite, the venue has a dedicated culinary team, serving everything from lavish three-course menus to buffet spreads for dancefloor refuelling.

REVIEWS

We can’t thank Horton Grange enough for pulling off an amazing wedding reception for us with only 4 days notice! We decided (and they thankfully agreed) to pull our wedding forward by a month so we could still have 30 guests instead of 15. Everything was perfect and just how we wanted it. Tweaks were made to make it COVID safe following regulations (such as canapés served on individual plates, buffet served at tables etc) but that didn’t hinder the day at all and it still just felt like a real celebration. The decoration was beautiful and the food was delicious and we had a fantastic time. Staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and we would absolutely recommend Horton Grange to any future couples looking to get married.

Marvellous wedding venue! With all the uncertainty around covid, we weren’t sure if we would be able to have a look around the venue but they couldn’t have been more helpful! We are so pleased they had our date available and can’t wait to get married here next year!x

My husband, and I had the most amazing wedding at Horton Grange. The staff couldn't have been more lovely. A huge thank-you to Sarah who helped me with my wedding dress at the evening reception. Emma was amazing, she listened to everything and did a fantastic job. The Bridal suite was gorgeous, very clean with a super comfortable bed. All our guests who stayed said their rooms were lovely. Thank-you again.

We had a family wedding here last weekend and can't recommend it enough. Beautiful setting, staff were courteous and friendly, food was delicious and the bedrooms were spotless (we loved the style, which fit the Hotel perfectly, though everything looked new). I don't think we walked past a single member of staff who didn't say hello or smiled. My only grumble would be the large gravel on the pathways which caused a tumble for a couple of guests and a few of us to lose heels on our shoes, but it is a listed building. Apart from the tumbles we couldn't ask for a better day. Many thanks to all the staff for making our day one of the best of our lives
