In the middle of the Alpilles in Saint Rémy de Provence, at the end of a majestic driveway lined by century-old trees, you will discover all the charm and serenity of this 19th century mansion. Since 1980, the property has been in the hands of the Bon family, who have transformed it into a gracious hotel and exclusive wedding venue for romantics and modern daydreamers. Run by mother and daughter team, Catherine and Maya, the château now offers forward-thinking couples a new way to wed, with open-air romance and fleeting free-flowing

spaces peppered with exotic trees underpinning this once-in-a-lifetime marriage destination. The finely-restored period décor and contemporary furniture combine to offer guests all the comfort and luxury of a Provencal home, with a gorgeous modern-luxe pool area, 21 unique rooms and suites and impeccable dining options providing comfort, aesthetic and intimacy. THE LEADING LADIES

The château was first inherited in the seventeenth century, but as time passed, the castle fell into disrepair. By the time the Bon family took over in 1980, it was a dilapidated property – but aware of its grand potential, Françoise Bon and her daughter Catherine set about restoring it back to glory. Fast forward nearly 50 years, and it is now the incredible Le Château des Alpilles, run by Catherine and her daughter Maya, with matriarch Françoise watching over with delight. Three generations of women, one incredible wedding venue.

Gather guests in the awe-inspiring tree-lined driveway beneath a sky of foliage to enjoy a decadent meal cooked by Chefs Mathias Bettinger and Agustin Ontivero – imagine a light, refined and colourful menu, highlighting the local produce and typical Provencal flavours, with the pretty pale blue and sandstone façade of the chateau as a backdrop.

For larger gatherings, opt to have your day in a grand marque in the grounds, using the chateau’s trusted list of suppliers to create your dream French fairytale party – from full buffet bonanzas to live music and entertainment.

Drinks receptions can be held alongside the pool on the incredibly chic Bohemian-inspired deck, watching the sunset as you sip on handcrafted cocktails and local wine. Alternatively, gather in the bar inside the main house, where deep, bold interiors and a cosy open fire await.

SOHO SUNDOWNERS

If it were up to us, we’d be spending the day after by the pool – this super stylish Soho-esque space boasts an effortlessly minimalist vibe with hanging lighting, rattan style parasols and super comfy sofas, the ultimate space for the post-wedding de-brief.

We got married and stayed at Le Château des Alpilles and could not ask for a more perfect venue. The rooms were very comfortable and specious. We were a group of 17 guests, and the staff were the nicest we ever encountered - they helped us with every request before our arrival and during our stay at the Château. Also, the food was absolutely fantastic - every dish was incredible. This was truly the wedding of our dreams and it was all thanks to the lovely people of Le Château des Alpilles.

The chateau is just beautiful. The staff are just fantastic - some new faces this year but good to still see Jean Pierre running front of house like clockwork. We are not the only returnees. One couple are reputed to have been staying each year for 30 years or so (they've certainly been there every time we visit). On this occasion a wedding reception was held on the terrace - where lovelier or more romantic to hold such an event? The restaurant provides glorious meals. If I were to be restricted to spending my holidays in one place for the rest of my life, then it would cause me no hardship at all to choose Chateau des Alpilles as that destination.

This place is stunning from the service, pool, quiet, restaurant and just a good relaxing environment away from the peak holiday traffic and tourism of this region. It was a 5 star relaxing experience that we needed each day to start the day fresh and re-energise at the end of the day.
