Lumley Castle is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and receptions. It accommodates up to 132 seated guests for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, and up to 180 guests for evening celebrations without a marquee. With a marquee added in the grounds, evening capacity can expand further—ideal for larger weddings up to 180+ guests. Exclusive-use bookings give you full access to all public spaces and bedrooms, ensuring privacy and an immersive experience.
GRAND & INTIMATE
The Barons Hall is the castle’s signature state room—with dramatic architecture, high ceilings, and ornate detailing—ideal for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts for 50–110 guests, and evening receptions for up to 150 .
For smaller celebrations: The Gilt offers a tranquil retreat for 12–18 guests, while The Sceptre and Scarborough State Room are perfect for more refined gatherings of up to around 50. Iconic gardens like the Barons Garden also make lovely outdoor ceremony or drinks-reception settings.

Up to 140 guests can stay on-site with a 15% room discount for wedding guests booking directly for the nights around the wedding.
