South Causey Inn can provide you with a traditional country wedding enclosed in the stunning countryside with a relaxed and informal environment. Its Old Barn, which isseparate from the main hotel, and is a truly splendid space for celebrations. With wooden floors, original beams, and classic features, this beautiful venue is spacious enough for 200 guests and has a separate area for hosting wedding ceremonies. The Barn also has a designated area for parking, a stunning private bar area, and a private garden where guests can enjoy drinks and canapés while taking breathtaking photos against the backdrop of the Beamish Valley.
Its spacious and elegant Durham Suite was once a stone stable block and has been sensitively converted into a bright, beautiful space that is ideal for hosting all manner of celebrations. Seating up to 150 guests the Durham Suite is flooded with natural daylight and has access to a stunning private garden. Its Tanfield Suite is the civil ceremony room for the Durham Suite, with elegant, chapel-style interiors; this is the perfect setting for you to start your new life together.
Both venues are set in 100 acres with beautiful flower and herb gardens, a wild meadow, and more formal lawns for those treasured photographs. The venue also have its own stunning lake setting, which we will be happy to provide transport to and from on the day.
There are 41 bedrooms on site ranging from fabulous Deluxe Hot Tub Rooms, featuring unique interiors, outdoor hot tubs, and luxurious amenities, to beautifully furnished double and twin rooms with stunning views over the Beamish Valley. Its selection of bedrooms have everything you need for a unique, Northern getaway.
For couples who love all things vintage, or just those who fancy a romantic getaway with a difference, the venue’s fabulous 1960s Double Decker Bus has been fully renovated into a unique, luxurious accommodation space, complete with eye-catching décor and private outdoor hot tub.
NEW for July 2018 are the new “Pamper Houses” also know as The Den & The Bunk House, which sleep up to 10 guests, perfect for Hen Nights, Eve of the Wedding or just a girly weekend away. These quirky two storey houses are equipped with three bathrooms, two bedrooms, living room area, and a magical indoor garden decked with fairy lights, twinkling trees & the largest hot tub we have ever seen!
At South Causey Inn the team believe that no member of the family should be left behind, especially when there are acres of beautiful grounds and the nearby Beamish Valley to explore. This is why the venue have several pet friendly rooms available and also welcome dogs in the bar and snug area. South Causey Gin is distilled on-site and is based on our resident dogs – Rip the Bull Dog, Eddie the Lab, and Lady Cumberland the Sausage Dog. They venue also have seasonal Gins, such as Rhubarb, which is home grown in the South Causey gardens, where they have also planted many of its other botanical used in its gin.
