With Druridge Bay’s unspoilt coastline as a breath-taking backdrop in one direction and a bucolic farmland idyll in the other, Northumberland’s The Barn on The Bay is a laidback wedding venue that ticks all of the romantic boxes you and your partner may have.
And with an array of ceremony and reception options – including two-day packages for couples who don’t want the party to end – you can create a seamless no-fuss big day all in one place.
No Barn Too Big or Small
Whatever the size of your celebration, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
The working farm boasts two barn venues which both offer real flexibility on décor and styling.
The wedding barn – a vast, rustic agricultural space – is provided furnished, and can host up to 200 seated guests, with plenty of filler options, including chillout spots, couches and straw bales.
And keeping your wedding party watered all night certainly won’t be an issue, as revellers can make use of the licensed bar and horsebox cocktail bar, as well as enjoy a champagne toast on the covered veranda.
Meanwhile the adjacent paddock is ideal for garden games, and the farmyard is a perfect spot for setting up alfresco food carts for after-dark feasting.
However, if you’re aiming for more low-key nuptials, you should consider the calico barn’s bijou charms.
While this stone-built former cartshed is used as a wedding-night bunkbarn for much of the year, during off-season, its licensed ceremony space is ideal for intimate vows with up to 30 of your nearest and dearest in attendance.
Life’s A Beach
If you’ve had your heart set on an ‘I do’ with a serious view, we recommend you take to the dunes!
Just across the road from the farm, there’s a wonderful secluded grassy spot overlooking the majestic bay that would be ideal for ceremonies.
But if you want to marry closer to the shore, the team here knows a vendor who can make your dreams come true.
All the Extras
A confetti field, vintage tractors and alpacas, oh my! The Barn on The Bay team is constantly evolving its finer details to delight guests, from bringing in expert event coordinators and a fantastic on-the-day team to unveiling a new reception bar option.
Whether it’s a field dedicated to getting that perfect confetti shot, being towed to the ceremony on a retro farm vehicle or inviting some of the farm’s friendly alpacas along, one thing’s for sure: these special little touches will make for a truly unforgettable wedding.
Forget Glastonbury, you can host your very own Wedstock here by bringing together the venue’s combination of fields, beach, cool veranda and plentiful glamping options.
For the ultimate weekend takeover, bring in the tipis, live bands, streetfood vans and fully-stocked portable bars.
Just add glowsticks, glitter and an after-party hangover breakfast and your marriage will be the headliner of the summer!
