It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Full of love, family festivities and Christmas cheer, it comes as no surprise that many couples are drawn to the romantic allure of winter. And with venues such as Matfen Hall, which make a fantastic setting for a winter wedding, tying the knot this season couldn’t be easier, or more stylish!
Set within 300 acres of beautiful Northumbrian countryside, Matfen Hall is the North East’s leading four-star wedding venue, offering couples an exclusive use setting like no other. Having recently undergone a £250K refurbishment the suites here have a new lease of life boasting a fresh and neutral palette with touches of modernity throughout. While the stunning suites offer panoramic views of the estate, there’s also plenty of photography opportunities inside the venue. The stained glass window and stunning original oak ceiling in The Great Hall provide a truly spectacular backdrop, and this room is the jewel of the East Wing.
Should the bad weather, or snow strike, Matfen Hall has a wealth of accommodation on-site. Couples and their guests can make themselves at home in one of the unique and historic rooms, from opulent to classical, each room is designed and decorated with elegant style and taste.
Winter weddings at Matfen Hall are rather spectacular. Couples and their guests can cosy up around the fire pit in the Great Hall and relive the celebrations, or catch up over a homemade hot chocolate at Matfen’s very own hot chocolate bar!
