Capturing the intimacy and magic of the secluded woodland setting of North Star was the cornerstone of styling this romantic elopement shoot. It’s the perfect location for a pair of nature enthusiasts, who want to celebrate their love with only each other and the natural beauty that surrounds them – as if they are the only two people in the world.
“I wanted to tell the story of celebration, without all of the traditional expectations of a wedding. A simple outdoors ceremony beneath a beautifully dressed wooden frame, followed by a candlelit picnic in the woods. Just the two of them, together,” explained Morgan of The Rose Quartz Photography.
“Kat, from Katherine Gregory Makeup Artist, kept the hair and make-up consistent with the romantic, natural feel we aimed to create with the styling. With a copper smoky eye and a dark nude lip, the make-up complemented the greens and browns of the woods perfectly. She also kept the model’s hair very natural – loose curls, alongside a stunning foliage crown from Ivy Lane Florist.”
“We took a step away from traditional bridal accessories to bring the woodland into the bridal wear. The bride wore a gorgeous white denim jacket, decorated with a hand painted foliage wreath by Sammy Lea’s Retro Emporium, which added a much needed modern touch to the day. Beautiful twig and leaf themed pieces of silver jewellery were provided by Sam Ryde Jewellery. These unique pieces added the perfect final touch to her bridal wear, bringing together the bohemian bride and woodland location.”
“Colour was such an important element of the day. To mirror the impressive trees on location, Bex Brides provided an original vintage gown, hand coloured with green ombre topped with a bespoke cape. Bex Brides also made her signature dress for this shoot, which is her boho fringed FLEUR kaftan gown. Boasting delicate lace and leaves woven through to echo the shaded trees and finished with a green brooch at the waist. Storeybook Wedding Cakes created a stunning two tiered wedding cake with pressed foliage, and Made by Rea Designs filled her bespoke wedding stationery with beautiful woodland illustrations. Most importantly, though, were the flowers. To emphasise the vivid greens of September’s woodland colours, Ivy Lane Florist created a selection of stunning pieces, focusing on green foliage and white flowers as to not draw too much attention from the woodland itself. This, alongside the use of natural wood in each styled set, allowed us to completely encapsulate the models in one of Yorkshire’s hidden gems.”
